Theme licence

The short version: one theme, one store. Change it as much as you like for that store, but don’t share it, resell it or use it on a second store.

What you get

When you buy a ShopLaunch ZA theme, on its own or with a setup, you get a licence to use it on one Shopify store. The theme’s code and design stay mine. Everything you put in it (your logo, photos, products and words) stays yours.

You may

• Install the theme on one live Shopify store: the store you bought it for.
• Keep extra copies in that store’s theme library, for example a backup or a version you’re working on.
• Use it on one development store while you build that store, as long as the development store never becomes a second live store.
• Change the colours, fonts, sections and code for that store, or pay someone to change them for you.
• Keep using it for as long as that store exists. There’s nothing to renew.

You may not

• Use the theme on a second live store, even for another brand of your own. Each extra store needs its own licence.
• Give away, sell, share, upload or publish the theme, or any part of its code or design, changed or not.
• Use the theme, or code from it, to make a theme or template that you sell or give away, including on the Shopify Theme Store.
• Say that you made the theme.

Building stores for clients

Freelancers and agencies: buy one licence for each client store. The licence belongs to that client’s store, and passes to the client.

If you sell your store

The licence goes with the store to its new owner, and you stop using the theme yourself.

Updates and help

• Free updates for as long as the theme is sold on shoplaunch.co.za. An update is a new version of the theme. Installing it doesn’t change your settings, but it does replace any code changes you made yourself, so keep a copy of those.
• 30 days of WhatsApp help from the day you buy, with setting up the theme and using its settings. Custom code changes and other companies’ apps aren’t part of it; Theme + Setup and Store Care cover those.

What isn’t part of the theme

• The demo stores’ brands, products, photos, videos and reviews are made up for the demos. None of them come with the theme.
• Fonts come from Shopify’s own font library and are used under Shopify’s terms.
• Apps you add have their own terms and costs.

If the licence is broken

It ends, and the theme must be taken off every store using it without a licence. I’ll always ask you first, and you can put it right by buying the licences you need.

The legal part

This licence is part of my terms. South African law applies. If anything here takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, that part doesn’t apply and your right stands.
